about

9Code Labs builds rovecode.

A small team that thinks a coding agent should show its work, ask before it acts, and run where your code already is.

why

An agent you can watch.

Most coding agents are a chat log with a file system behind it. You type, it types, and somewhere below the fold something changed. We started rovecode because we wanted the opposite: a cockpit where every panel shows one thing you would otherwise have to ask about, and a policy that says no before a human has to.

The company exists to keep that agent free software and to run the service around it — accounts, shared credits, team policy, support — for the teams that want one. The plans pay for the service. The agent stays yours.

principles

Four things we will not trade.

  • 01

    Show the work

Every tool call is a row on the screen and a line in the log. If it is not visible, it did not happen.

  • 02

    Ask before acting

The policy refuses by default, and the approval card asks with the real arguments, not a paraphrase.

  • 03

    Run where the code is

On your machine, against the providers you chose. Nothing leaves that you did not configure to leave.

  • 04

    Write the limits down

Each safety layer states what it cannot catch, next to what it catches. A limit you can read is one you can plan around.
